Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)



According to Microsoft marketing literature, the MCSA represents the Windows Server implementer, while the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) role defines the systems architect or chief decision-maker.

To earn your MCSA, you must pass four exams:

Core Exams: Networking Systems (Both are required):

Exam 70-290: Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment
Exam 70-291: Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure

Core Exam: Client OS (Select one)

Exam 70-620: TS: Windows Vista, Configuring
Exam 70-270: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Windows XP Professional

Elective Exam (Select one)

You can substitute the CompTIA Network+ for your MCSA elective exam
